Tailgate Tavern boasts live music

Everybody needs something to help transition from the workday to home life, whether that be listening to the radio on the drive home or going out for a drink. Most of the time, at least in my house, that comes in the form of a Corona Light with lime or a gin and tonic. But sometimes we don’t want to make our own drinks.

The Tailgate Tavern & Grill is basically the “neighborhood bar” and restaurant, the equivalent of the place sitcom characters sit down in to discuss the events of the episode. This establishment sits on the prime corner of Mainstreet, with O’Brien Park on it’s diagonal and several restaurants across from it. Identifying as a sports bar, Tailgate is a live music venue with open-air patio seating and a relaxed atmosphere. In short: it's the perfect place to decompress.

Starting bright and early, the tavern serves up mimosas and screwdrivers for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and stays open for lunch and dinner. On weekdays, the tavern’s happy hour runs from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m, where anything from beer to cocktails are sold at a reduced price. Meanwhile, every weekend live music can be spotted both inside and on the patio, ranging from 1980s cover bands like Kelli Said -- who performed last week -- to rock and country bands.

Smack-dab in the middle of Parker Days vendor territory, the Tailgate will have music playing on both the patio stage and main stage every evening, after everything else closes down.
